Working in city parks or other public, widely used areas necessitates understanding the wider variety of trail users. These trails are often gateways to new users with easy community access in a front country setting, requiring:

  • Heightened quality of finish work, trails should be ready for immediate use upon opening.

  • Recognizing the vast range of user skillsets.

  • Need for more signage of trail closures with more intersections and interactions.

  • Readiness for potential of more contact or conversations with park users.

Hillandale Park in Harrisonburg, VA
